Namibian women have always had a great sense of style. However after reviewing pictures from the RedCarpet launch party, I'm starting to have my doubts. The celebrities were disappointing and there were more stylish men than women in attendance. Fear not, it wasn't entirely a waste. Some ladies did bring their A game (which should be the case, all the time) and I definately give credit when due. Seen in the pictures (above and below) were probabaly the fliest ladies in the building. To you ladies, keep doing your thing. LM says; you rock!
I love Fashion because I know what makes me jump me and down, what compliments my body
How I can pair certain items together, and because it shows the world who I am.
I know we hear this all the time but it's true.
Fashion shows your personality.
We all have our own different ways of dressing,
You may love animal prints, neon dayglo wigs, pencil skirt, or khaki pants.
However wear what you wear with pride.
Every thing you put on represents you, however do it with class, and a SMILE.
Having said that ladies, please wear you clothes with respect to your body.
Fashion is far more than an art form. It is a purpose for many designer. Join us on February 26th for an awesome fashion event: Africa is Fashion. We would love to share this message with you because as a young black woman being socially concscious is a must no matter what you do.
They say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, our creator.
So why not believe that. No one can take that away from you. we have lost touch with the true meaning of Beauty. Your heart, your soul, and of course your body. Love who you are, that is where beauty comes from, loving yourself. Your skin does not change that. Your hair does not change that. Black is Gorgeous
"Everything I see in the mirror is me, But everything I see in me is not in the mirror, Therefore, there is more to people than the facade they put up.
I see more in you than the front you put up- You are strong, but kind, Yet your blackness teaches you different, You defend yourself before you are accused, You insist on being proper and those that don't are ghetto, You tone yourself down as if to say; I'm sorry I'm black.
Does this offend you? Well You offend me. I am a proper black woman, At times I'm loud and snap my fingers when heated, I walk with a twist and my attitude could use adjusting. I am black, so get with the programme.~ Milo Mael
The question you should ask yourself is; what do you see in the mirror. Is it the image of yourself or the image society has given you? Only you can decide who you are. Make it a wise choice.
If you thought being black put you at the bottom of the food chain, think again. There is power in your skin and bones alone. Your people have been through it, seen through it and fought their way to the top. Your skin is black, therefore it is bold, if it is bold, it cannot be ignored, if it cannot be ignored you are like light, if you are light, then you can shine bright. So keep shining my sisters and forget not who you were, who you are now and who you would like to become for they all encompass and foreshadow the legend that is you.
